The Giant Jam Sandwich

For our transport topic, we learned about vehicles which can fly. We read a story called The Giant Jam sandwich. The people in the village were being bothered by wasps, so they made a huge sandwich to trap the wasps in and got the birds to carry it away. They used clever flying machines to drop the top piece of bread onto the wasps in the sticky jam! The children then had a go at making their own sandwiches- not giant ones though!
They loved the independence and were really proud with their attempts. This was really good practice for their fine motor skills too.
We also have some new handmade wooden airplanes to play with in our airport tuff tray!
