Liddington Residential October 2023

Evening of Thursday 12th October - Disco Ready!

Well, we've had another great day despite the grey, misty weather!  All children have had a go at archery today, which they have very much enjoyed. They also worked on their  teamwork skills with the problem solving activity and completing the crate challenge.  In between activities, they have enjoyed more delicious food and some free time when some chose quiet time playing games with their friends in the corridors while others chose playing outside.  It's now time to get ready for the last night and the disco!

Day Two - Wednesday 11th October - Swinging, Climbing and Crate Challenge Fun

What a fabulous day Wednesday has been! Most groups enjoyed the giant swing, which is a firm favourite so far! Even two of the teachers had a go! Children have also been climbing with many children reaching the top and building buggies and completing the crate challenge both of which were great for teamwork.  Children also had time to visit the shop and have some free time to play with some of their purchases. Everyone is now getting ready to do the 'Passport to the World' activity, which is a sort of orienteering activity in the dark!

Day Two - Tuesday 10th October - Canoeing and Campfire

We have had a fantastic second day and have been lucky with the lovely dry weather. All children have been canoeing, which was great fun and a bit wet (some more than others!). They have also enjoyed survival activities (such as shelter building and lighting fires) and a sensory trail, which involved being blindfolded as a team and using a rope and communication to guide them through a course in the woods.  Everybody is enjoying the three cooked meals a day and they are now off to enjoy a campfire before settling down for the night.

Day One - Monday 9th October - Arrival and Ambush

After a very quick journey, we have all arrived safely in Liddington.  The weather has been glorious so we spent time outdoors enjoying the fresh air and settling into our rooms.  After dinner, we headed out into the woods to play 'Ambush', which was great fun in the dark! Now they are all settling down for the night.
