Ramadan and Eid

Ramadan is the Islamic holy month of fasting, During  this time  many Muslims refrain from eating during the hours of daylight. This sacrifice helps  to teach self-discipline and raises awareness  of suffering and the poor. Many Muslims believe  Ramadan is a time to focus on their faith and remember the month the Qur'an (the Muslim holy book) was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

This year several members of our school community including both staff and pupils observed Ramadan, Some of our younger pupils fasted at weekends, whilst a year 6 child tried to fast fully for the first time. All the pupils involved were able to share their faith, feelings and reason for fasting with their peers,
