Coronation Celebration

On Friday 5th May, the whole school celebrated King Charles III's Coronation. The children were a vision of red, white and blue! They enjoyed learning about the different aspects of the Coronation. In the morning, Year 2 completed a Coronation Scavenger Hunt as well as colouring in a Union Jack. The picnic lunch had to be held in the classrooms due to the weather!  But everyone enjoyed their ice cream with sprinkles!

The whole school came together for a Coronation Assembly - everyone sang Coronation Song then the National Anthem and ended with our School Song. The children who had designed their own royal headpiece had chance to show these off in front of the school. Generously our PTA presented every child with a Coronation medal.

During the week, V1 and V2 also listened to Mrs Partridge's Grandparents and their memories of the last coronation. The children were fascinated with all the different facts and memories. They also listened to Miss Hill's Mum who was on The Mall during the last coronation too.

What a fun week!
