Physical Education
"Catherine Wayte Primary School supports a high quality, broad and balanced PE curriculum that meets the needs of all pupils throughout Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and Key stage 2. The PE curriculum develops pupils’ physical competence and confidence, and their ability to use these to perform in a range of activities. Physical Education provides opportunities for pupils to excel, be creative, competitive and to be confident to encounter challenges as individuals and in groups and teams. At Catherine Wayte we are committed to helping pupils discover their aptitudes, abilities and preferences, and how to make choices about getting involved in lifelong physical activity."
We wish to embed in pupils the enjoyment and everlasting passion for physical activity and the importance of looking after their health. We do this by providing opportunities to learn a wide range of skills that can be used in a range of activities; working socially and co-operatively is also taught explicitly within the curriculum.
