Science - The Yeast Experiment
In our science topic of Living Things and Their Habitats, Year 6 have been learning about micro organisms and their discovery and uses. In this experiment, pupils investigated the beneficial use of yeast and also the effect of sugar and salt on this living micro organism. They saw yeast can be used to make bread rise and learnt that sugar feeds the yeast while salt kills the yeast (though in Voyager 6's case it was not that obvious!). Luckily, one of the science skills we were developing was how to improve an investigation! Great learning and great fun - if a little sticky at times!
