History
"The aim of history teaching here at Catherine Wayte Primary School is to stimulate the children’s interest and understanding about the passing of time and the past in Britain and the wider world. Thus they learn to value their own and other people’s cultures in modern multicultural Britain, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills, so that they are better able to make their own life choices today. We teach children a sense of chronology, which helps give them a sense of their own place and time and in addition it helps them understand how the past is different from the present. Through history they can learn to explore and examine evidence, develop their own point of view and consider how events in the past can affect the future."
