British Science Week 2024
As part of British Science Week activities, Year 6 made and investigated different sorts of clocks and timers. They created pendulum timers and investigated questions such as what is the effect of having different weights or lengths of string on the timers. Next, they used water clocks as timers and thought about the different variables such as the size of the bottles and size of the holes for the water to pass through. Finally, they made sundials, however, the weather meant they could not investigate or use these. Hopefully, next term the weather will be sunnier and we can get out and use them.
Year 6 also took part in The Big Plastic Count and thank you to all the families that did this at home. This evidence will be used by charities such as Greenpeace to take action with the government on plastic pollution. Please see attached our Year 6's plastic footprint based on the 19 families who completed it.
