Science - Adaptation Investigations
For our Habitats Science Topic, Year 2 have been learning about animals and their habitats. We have looked at different habitats across our Planet - polar, desert, rainforest, woodland and ocean/sea.
To understand how animals have adapted over time Y2 carried out some investigations.
We looked at how:
- birds have adapted (e.g. their beaks have changed over time) and how they now find food;
- camels' hooves have adapted to walking on the hot desert sand
- polar bears have developed a thick layer of blubber to keep them warm in the Arctic Ocean;
- butterflies camouflage into their environment.
