Explore British Values and Democracy
During the whole school Explore of British Values and Democracy, Apollo 3 and 4 learnt about the democratic voting process and linked it to electing School Councillors from each class.
In groups, the children combined their skills and learning and became a campaign group for each candidate. They created a manifesto which included a persuasive speech based on the personal skills and qualities of the candidate, as well as the policies they would like to introduce as class representatives in the school council.
All the children were really enthusiastic; they really rallied behind their candidate and had an enjoyable week.
