Catherine Wayte

Primary School

Citizens of the World (PSHE, SMSC, British Values and Multi-cultural)

At Catherine Wayte Primary School, the Citizens of the World Team aim to nurture and educate pupils in order to help children lead confident, healthy, independent lives and become informed, active and responsible citizens. As a school we also use a ‘Gems’ system which promotes each child’s positive personal qualities. PSHE is taught as a separate subject with weekly lessons designed to teach the knowledge, skills and understanding as set out in the National Curriculum. We follow the Jigsaw scheme of work which brings together PSHE Education, emotional literacy, social skills and spiritual development in a comprehensive scheme of learning. The Jigsaw scheme follows a mindful approach and spiritual, moral, social and cultural opportunities are mapped throughout. We believe that to become a successful citizen of the world, it is vital that children  foster positive self-esteem and respect, in order to achieve their potential in school and go on to lead a safe and fulfilled life.

Anti-Bullying Week in Year 6

PCSO Anti Bullying Visit

Year 5 were very lucky to have a visit from the local PCSOs this week to learn about Anti-Bullying. The PCSOs did a fantastic job and gave pupils an insight into different types of bullying and the consequences for certain actions. We would like to say a huge thank you to our visitors for their time and the very useful information they provided. We all learnt so much more about different types of bullying.
