Metacognition - Learning to Use a Compass
As part of our Metacogntion work (learning about how we learn), we worked on trying to master a new skill – the use of compasses to navigate. We explored the use of mnemonics (‘Put Red Fred in the Shed’). Year 6 pupils enjoyed planning their own routes using compass directions within their instructions. The challenge next will be to follow another group's instructions to see if those instructions were accurate!
