Art
At Catherine Wayte Primary School, our children take part in a varied and exciting Art and Design curriculum that aims to engage, inspire and challenge them, based on the 2014 Primary National Curriculum. Art and Design instils an appreciation and enjoyment of the arts, involving children in a range of visual, tactile, and sensory experiences, which promotes careful observation and an appreciation of the world around us.
The intent of our teaching is to create an awareness of Art and Design in their lives, foster a love of the subject and improve their skills and talent as artists and designers.
Year 1 - Take One Picture London Landmarks and Big Art postcards
Year 1 Beatrix Potter Water Colours. We used gentle brush strokes and water to lighten the colours. Some of us tried to create texture.
