Art - William Morris
For the Blue Kite Academy art gallery we studied William Morris. We evaluated some of his designs and explored the process of making a textile or wallpaper design. We began by observing nature looking at the shape, pattern and texture of leaves and flowers. We then selected an interesting part of our drawings to create a print block, using a pencil to indent our pattern into polystyrene. We printed in a first phase colour, then added a second to add detail by indenting and overlaying.
