Dear Parents
We hope that you have had a good week and that your child continues to work as well as possible with their home learning. Thank you again to those of you who have emailed us some of your child’s work and we look forward to seeing even more children’s work next week!
Thank you also for all the positive feedback we have had about the learning packs and live sessions. It has been great that so many children have joined the live whole class sessions and we really enjoy seeing them all both at these and also the regular drop-in sessions. These will continue to run and we hope that even more children will be able to join them next week. The timings of these drop-ins can be found on the weekly timetable. This week in our drop-in sessions, we have been able to answer questions about packs, introduce daily learning and help children with work such as decimal multiplication and coding.
This week’s remote learning can once again be found on Microsoft Teams or at the bottom of this webpage. Please note that some of the Maths question sheets are spread over several pages (due to the nature of line graph, bar chart and pie chart questions) so instead of printing them, we would recommend that, where possible, children view the questions on the screen and answer them on a piece of paper.
If your child finishes early, please encourage them to check carefully that their work is of a similar standard to what they would produce if they were in school. Once they have done this, here is a reminder of other activities they might wish to try:
- Abacus activities
- Times Tables Rockstars
- Daily Purple Mash tasks
- Any of the Oak Academy Y6 English tasks (we will not be setting these)
- An independent research project on a subject of their choice
- Extra independent reading
- BBC lessons
As before we understand that every child’s home learning situation is different, so we do not want anyone to feel that they must ensure their child completes every piece of work set. Please use this pack in whichever way is best for your situation and do not hesitate to get in contact with us if there is any further support you require. We can’t promise to solve every situation but we will certainly do our best!
Many thanks for your continued support, and we hope you can enjoy a restful weekend. Take care and stay safe.
Mr Shammas and Mrs Tomlins
