DT - Shelters
In DT this term the children investigated a range of different shelters from around the world. They considered which materials had been used and which joining techniques were the most effective. To aid their understanding, they tested a variety of materials for
strength, durability and waterproofness and also constructed simple structures to identify strong shapes and strengthening techniques. To end the unit, pupils were challenged to find the best way to balance books on a single sheet of paper.
