22nd February 2021

Dear Parents, Carers and Children,

We made it to the end of Term 3! We appreciate everyone’s dedication and hard work this term and patience with the remote learning! Depending on when you are reading this, we hope you have or had a lovely half term break and had some much deserved rest with your families.

Please note, there is absolutely no expectation for any learning to take place over the half term break and no work has been set, we firmly believe everyone needs to take this time to rest. Remote learning will resume again from Monday 22nd February.

From Monday, 22nd February the remote learning will follow a very similar set up as the previous term. We will read a story Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as a live lesson. On Friday, we plan to lead a live English lesson where there will be no pre-recorded lesson but instead this will be an opportunity for your child to join in with Miss Porter during the English lesson.

The story times will be scheduled to start at 2:30 but won’t actually start until 2:40, this is to give all the children an opportunity to log in and join on time.  Story time and this assembly will begin at 2.30pm and finish at 3pm.

The new writing focus is to write a biography about J.K Rowling for our author study, which includes a range of features to write an account of J.K Rowling’s life.

We have continued to put the home learning on the website as zip folders and now have put the planned work on Teams as just folders under the folder marked – “Classroom Materials” which is located beneath the” Files” icon at the top of the screen.

We will continue to upload daily folders of work rather than folders for each subject. We will still provide a weekly overview of the timetable which is as always just suggested, it is up to you how you wish to carry out the remote learning as we are very aware and appreciate all families are different and have varied working schedules.

The way the timetable has been colour coded remains the same; yellow indicates live lessons, blue is pre-recorded and green is the work we will respond to and provide feedback for.

Once again, we would like to thank everyone, parents, carers and children for your continued support, you have been brilliant this term and we are very grateful.

Take care and best wishes,

The Year Three team.
