Science - Electrical conductivity and Solubility
As part of their unit on The Properties of Materials, Year 5 pupils investigated the electrical conductivity of various different metals. It was good to recap on how to make a circuit from Year 4 and to think about the controlled variables which they needed to keep the same. We also discussed the accuracy of this sort of test as it was hard to judge the brightness of the bulb.
Year 5 also investigated the solubility of different solids and discussed the factors, which would speed up solubility, such as warming and stirring.
