Investigating Light and Reflection

Today, the children investigated which objects reflect light and which do not. Using torches, they explored a variety of materials including a mirror, sandpaper, aluminium foil, carpet, and a table.

The children were very sensible and careful while using the torches. They observed that smooth and shiny objects, such as mirrors and aluminium foil, reflected the light well, while rough objects like sandpaper and carpet did not reflect as much light.

The children used excellent scientific thinking and vocabulary throughout the investigation and were able to explain their ideas confidently. Well done everyone!
