Exploring Ancient Egypt: Crafting Canopic Jars

In art, we made canopic jars, just like the ancient Egyptians used! These special jars were used to hold important things from a person’s body when they were mummified. We used different sculpting techniques to make our jars. First, we made pinch pots, shaping the clay with our fingers, and then we used coil pots, rolling the clay into long snakes and stacking them to build up the sides. After that, we made markings on our jars, just like the Egyptians did, using a technique called score and slip. This means we scratched the surface of the clay and added a special paste to help the pieces stick together. Once our jars were all put together, we painted them using Egyptian colours like gold, red, and blue to make them look bright and beautiful. It was so much fun creating something inspired by ancient Egypt! make a title for this
