Designing Inclusive Gardens: PSHE Project

In PSHE, our Year 3 class took on the challenge of designing gardens for a person with a disability, thinking carefully about how to make them accessible and enjoyable for everyone. The children considered different needs, such as adding ramps for wheelchair users, raised flower beds for easier gardening, and sensory plants for those with visual impairments. They showed great empathy and creativity, working together to ensure their gardens were welcoming and inclusive. After designing their gardens, they proudly presented them to the class, explaining their ideas and how their designs would help make gardening more accessible for everyone. This project helped them understand the importance of adapting spaces so that everyone can enjoy nature.
