Westonbirt Arboretum Trip
Year 1 & 2's Fantastic Day at Westonbirt Arboretum
Year 1 and Year 2 had a wonderful day at Westonbirt Arboretum. The day began a little earlier than usual, with children arriving at school at 8:00am, ready for an 8:15am departure. The weather was perfect, setting the tone for an enjoyable and memorable trip.
After a quick snack, Year 2 embarked on the Gruffalo Trail, followed by a visit to the play area where they had lots of fun. Along the way, they collected pinecones and flowers, which they kept as souvenirs of their adventure.
Throughout the day, the children took part in Learning with Nature workshops. Year 2 explored a variety of topics, including:
How plants are used in everyday life—for furniture, food, medicine, and clothing
The life cycle of plants and how to keep them healthy
Identifying different trees and their leaves found in the Arboretum
It was a day full of discovery, learning, and laughter—one the children will surely remember!
