What an incredible week our Year 2 students had celebrating World Book Day!
We kicked off the festivities with a fun mystery book activity, where children brought in their favorite books wrapped up with clues for their classmates to guess. The creativity was outstanding—so much so that we only managed to guess a few correctly!
For the first time, we created our very own scrapbook based on one of our class novels, The Twits by Roald Dahl—one of our all-time favorites. The children did a fantastic job, and their work was truly impressive!
On World Book Day itself, children arrived in their comfy clothes, ready for a day full of reading fun. We were lucky to have two Year 6 students join us to read aloud, which the children absolutely loved. In the afternoon, we went into a ‘Book Tasting Café,’ where the children explored different books while enjoying a delicious biscuit.
It has been a truly wonderful week celebrating the joy of reading!
