'Himalayan Dreams' Talk by Al Sylvester

Year 6 pupils were lucky enough to have an inspiring 'Himalayan Dreams' talk from Al Sylvester which ties in with our reading sessions on based on 'Running on the Roof of the World' and texts about the Dalai Lams.  It was a fascinating talk of how Al has visited Nepal four times and he shared his incredible experiences of trekking in the Himalayas.  Not only did he describe the physical and emotional elements of his journeys, but he also captured the beauty of Nepal's culture and people.  Towards the end, Al dressed two children up, one in full hiking equipment and the other in clothing designed to withstand extreme temperatures of Mount Everest.

To finish, Al's message was to 'Never give up', which was a brilliant way to end his talk.  Thank you very much to Al for your talk - it was very inspiring!
